About me
I‘m a trained writer, researcher, and cultural historian. I completed undergraduate studies in history and anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and received a master’s in Public History from North Carolina State University and a doctorate in American Studies from the College of William & Mary.
I’ve taught college courses in American Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Sociology. I’ve also worked as a Jill of all trades in humanities nonprofits. I pursued graduate school out of a love of material culture studies (okay, antiques). My mom expected me to become an appraiser at Sotheby’s; instead, I design digital products.
I’m a native North Carolinian, born and raised in Raleigh. After living in Virginia and Maine, I’m back home in NC, where I’m often found wrangling my two rescue pups.
